As I promised here is a super easy Ice Cream recipe so you can enjoy homemade fresh Strawberry Ice Cream!

What you need to get started:
  • Ice
  • 1 gallon sized freezer bag and 1 smaller sized freezer bag
  • At least ½ cup of kosher or rock salt
  • ½ cup milk and ½ cup heavy cream or 1 cup of half and half
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (depending on how vanilla-y you like your ice cream. If you are adding strawberries or other flavors I would suggest doing a ½ teaspoon)
  • Chopped strawberries
  1. In the smaller bag, combine cream, milk (or half and half if that is what you are using), sugar, and strawberries. Seal this bag.
  2. Fill the larger bag halfway with ice. Add salt over the ice. Mix the bag to help distribute the salt.
  3. Place the bag of ice cream mixture inside and seal the larger bag well. Get some oven mitts or a towel to protect your hands while you shake the bag continuously for about 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture reaches desired consistency.
  4. Remove the ice cream filled bag from the ice, wipe the bag clean from salt, and enjoy your single serving of strawberry ice cream!
